OenoTourism at Domaine Faverot
We invite you to come and live a unique experience in the heart of our vineyard, which faces the Ventoux and located at the foot of the Luberon. Stay in one of our fourcottages, each converted with charm,in what used to be a silk farm. You can learn more about the southern grape varieties (some of which are 100 years old) with which we make our red and rosé wines: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvédre andCarignan. We also cultivate the varieties Roussanne and Rolle for our white wines… all these grape varieties offer a rich winemaking heritage.
We will happily welcome you into our wine cellar, amongst our stainless steel and cement vats, to share with you the secrets of our winemaking techniques: manual harvest for most of the plots, harvest dates chosen based on the maturation of the grapes, constant surveillance of the health of our vines, working the land, yield control, selection of grapes both on the vines as well as in the cellar and meticulouslyfollowing the vinification process in the cellar. Having been granted the official designation label of “Luberon Wine”, we rigorously work our 5 acres of vineyards with the greatest respect for Nature and the environment (without fertilizers or pesticides) giving priority to the quality of our wines. As part of a guided tour of our wine cellar, you will discover regional wines of strong character and rich aromatic palettes.
We can also accommodate groups for wine tasting sessions, which can be accompanied, on request, by a small Provencal buffet: fougasse (round garnished bread), terrine, caillette (a sort of paté), seasonal crespéou Provencal (a layered omelet dish) and a large variety of crudités. Please contact us for an appointment.
You can also visit the vineyards following this charming and informative guided tour. Stroll through the typical landscape of a Luberon vineyard, amongst olive trees, lavender, Provencal Guarrigues, fruit trees and vines, and discover the richness of the southern grape variety cultures. Discover some of our 100-year-old vines, witness the “Gobelet-style” pruning techniques typical of the winemakers in the Mediterranean and experience the harvest (depends on the season). This visit is accessible to all and contours the domain.
Tour and wine tasting is free for individuals.
